  • become acquainted with the state-of-the-art and frontiers in Additive Manufacturing: Materials, Products, Processes
  • identify technological characteristics driving AM’s economic impact

  • implement AM know-how to drive evaluation processes on materials and technologies
  • understand and assess supply chain changes associated with 3D printing technology adoption


Social Skills - the participants will

  • build up team-spirit and on-hand problem solving skills when creating 3D printed parts
  • develop critical thinking on deploying new technologies

AM is cementing its status as a powerful method capable of being used throughout the value chain and as a complement to traditional manufacturing.
In this course participants will

  • Get to know material properties and material processing in order to realize required property profiles.
  • Learn important aspects of additive design and additive construction of products.
  • Understand to distinguish, use, evaluate as well as combine additive manufacturing processes for plastics, metal and ceramic materials.
  • Deepen their knowledge on AM’s applications, cost-benefit calculations and quality considerations.
  • Reflect AM's economic impact as well as its impact on traditional supply chains.
  • Increase their awareness of health, safety and environmental issues in relation to AM.

The theoretical base will be deepend by practical exercises in which end-to-end engineering and manufacturing will be experienced by the participants.
